This Tuesday at the Tower office of the Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Chancellor Yván Gil held a meeting with the British Chargé d’Affaires in Venezuela, Colin Dick; who was recently appointed as the diplomatic representative of a European country in our country.
“We hope to maintain an effective communication mechanism within the framework of relations of equality and respect for sovereignty,” wrote the Chancellor on the X account @yvangil.
Colin Dick was announced by the British Embassy in the country as the new charge d’affaires in Venezuela, replacing Becks Buckingham, who has served as interim charge d’affaires since August 2021.
The British representative has held diplomatic positions since 1990 and was commissioner for Barbados and the Caribbean (2013-2017). In recent years, he served as head of department and director in charge of the UK Department for Exiting the European Union (2017-2019). He also served as director in charge of the country’s Cabinet Office.
