Great Britain will host Eurovision on behalf of Ukraine next year

BBC takes responsibility for hosting singing competition, someone says pers conference from Eurovision.

– We are very grateful that the BBC has agreed to host Eurovision in 2023, said the competition’s chief executive, Martin sterdahl, in a press release.

– We know that next year’s competition will showcase the creativity and skill of one of Europe’s most experienced broadcasters, while ensuring that this year’s winner, Ukraine, is celebrated and represented throughout the event.

Cooperation

Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC will work with the BBC to ensure there will be a Ukrainian element on next year’s show.

Ukraine, who qualified with a win at Eurovision in May this year, will automatically qualify for next year’s final along with five pre-qualifying nations, including Great Britain.

A bidding competition for British cities looking to take on the hosts will begin next week, according to a press release. A logo that will reflect Eurovision’s unique situation will also be announced later, and will represent the United Kingdom and Ukraine.

Security

The host city will be announced in the coming months. In the past, London, Edinburgh, Brighton, Harrogate and Birmingham have hosted the competition.

The EBU announced earlier this summer that the security situation in Ukraine meant that the country could not host its own Eurovision Song Contest until next year. The country was invaded by Russia on February 24 this year.

It has long been known that Great Britain will host on behalf of Ukraine, as the country is second in this year’s competition, and has also hosted on behalf of other countries several times before.
