– Haven’t told him yet

17 year old Ask Larsen from Filtvet is studying sales and service at Lier high school. The school is purely vocational.

“Tanya hates coming home from school. He participated every day, never skipped classes – and mostly did as he was told,” Ronnie’s father Michael André Giskegjerde Larsen, 52, wrote in a Facebook post.

He further explained that his son, who has Down syndrome, was well taken care of by the school system, and that the 17-year-old had had an individual learning plan his whole life.

Nevertheless, in two years – when Ask proudly accepts his diploma – it will probably read “Not rated».

Even though the Education Law states that: “Students, apprentices, prospective apprentices and prospective certificate participants have right of judgment. Entitlements apply from the first year and after senior secondary education. The right to appraisal includes provisional appraisal, final appraisal and documentation.”

– Will be assessed every day

“After 13 happy years at school, with almost zero hours and days of absence, where the teachers wrote in books every day how the day was, how she was, how she was. So she finally walked out the school gate, dressed for the occasion, and with him she got a certificate that said: Ask Larsen, NOT REVIEWed”, Larsen wrote further in the post.
