Health Platform Director: – An unacceptable situation, as it is now

– The health platform is under extreme pressure, there are a lot of serious mistakes, admitted the director of Trond Utne during today’s Helseplattformen AS board meeting in Trondheim.

The directors will delay the launch of the wellness platform for Helse Nord-Trøndelag by one year, which means November 2024.

Utne took over from Torbjørg Vanvik, who retired earlier this year. In front of the board at today’s meeting, the director described the situation as follows:

– This is an unacceptable situation, as it is at the moment, with the existing plans. We cannot stretch our available resources any further without mitigation measures.

The plan is for hospitals in Nord-Trøndelag to join the Health Platform later this year, and hospitals in Møre and Romsdal from April next year.

Trond Utne emphasizes that that is the limit of what can be justified, if Helse Nord-Trøndelag will enter the Health Platform as planned from November. Utne recommends that you give your organization time to catch up, to deal with backlogs on other tasks, so that you have better control over your operations in a responsible manner.

Helse Midt-Norge, which is a part owner of Helseplattformen AS, held board meetings this week and on May 16. The meeting which will set the direction for the further expansion of the platform. And maybe specify a new delay.

The National Audit Office announced yesterday that it has clarified its mandate to investigate Platform Health. The Norwegian Health Authority also recently issued a scathing criticism of the new patient registration system in central Norway.

E-mail is one of the areas most associated with problems. An electronic message that has been sent – and not received by the correct recipient. The regulatory authorities wrote that they were increasingly concerned about the discovery of several serious errors in the solutions.

– It has not been thoroughly tested before, and we should have tested it better, especially considering that this American platform will be used in Norwegian conditions, said director Trond Utne.

– We now have to create security so that mistakes don’t happen again, and patient safety is maintained.

During the board meeting, it turned out that there were continuous corrections to the journal system. May 15th and September 15th are the deadlines for correcting various errors. Utne’s director told the board that employees are doing more than good to make this go as smoothly as possible going forward.

The director also points out that there is something better, and this doesn’t get the attention all the mistakes and a lot of worry generates.
