Manchester City – Arsenal – Evocative Reaction:

  • Manchester City-Arsenal 4-1

MANCHESTER / OSLO (Dagbladet): Erling Braut Haaland wreaks havoc with the Arsenal keeper. He ran from them and beat them in a duel and in the end he scored a goal.

Haaland burned a number of chances in the match, but provided two assists, before he literally pulled out his hair in overtime and made it 4-1.

The world gapes

– That’s the definition of piss. He is absolutely superior, and this is at the very top level of club football, says Pål André Helland on Viaplay.

– I’ve never seen him better, Brede Hangeland follows up.

But Hangeland, who worked with Haaland in the national team, was also critical of Haaland’s finishing on Wednesday. Among other things, he missed two great chances alone with the keeper.

– This is actually a very bad result for him, Hangeland said.

– Afraid

Especially Rob Holding who replaced the injured William Lilina is struggling. The two were involved when Haaland served Kevin De Bruyne to make it 1-0. In the second half, he assisted the same man to make it 3-0.

– It’s senior against junior. It’s easy to empathize with Holding. He’s not there yet. He’s afraid of speed, he’s afraid of power. Holding is afraid of Erling Braut Haaland. I can see it, said former national team captain and Premier League goalkeeper Brede Hangeland on Viaplay.

– Braut Haaland against Holding is the definition of a coward, TV 2’s Jesper Mathisen wrote on Twitter.

In England, too, they react to duels.

– The Arsenal centre-back is scared of Haaland, wrote Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher on Twitter, adding that he himself would be scared too.

The former Liverpool stopper then reacted to Haaland’s assist for De Bruyne:

– Terrible by Holding, Sky Sports wrote about Holding’s action when he ran at Haaland and the Norwegian made use of space to play De Bruyne.

Missed opportunities

Former Mjøndalen player Mads Hansen believed on Twitter that this was the best half he had seen from Haaland in a field game, but his worst in front of goal.

– Final draw in the Premier League, and Haaland put in one of his best spells of the season. No score, but everything else is phenomenal, continued Mathisen.

– He could score a hat trick, Sky Sports reporter Adam Bate reports about Haaland along the way.

Several English language experts praised Haaland despite his low score:

Immediately after scoring, Martin Ødegaard immediately rushed to manager Mikel Arteta. There he received intense instructions and messages from a manager, reported reporters of Dagbladet who were present at the Etihad.

Late in the match, Holding had a bit of redemption when he slotted in Arsenal’s silencer.
