– Must enjoy while it lasts – VG

SUMMER IN OSLO: Mathias Haughom (24) jumps over Ole Mathias Ishoel (23), Alette Muren (24) and the rest of his friends at Tjuvholmen in Oslo on Sunday.

Sunday is one of the hottest days of summer in Oslo, but now the south is coming to an end in Southern and Eastern Norway. Rain, lightning and thunder will take over.

The sun shining over Southern and Eastern Norway over the past week has created a southern atmosphere for Islanders and swimmers, and on Sunday the Meteorological Institute measured the summer’s highest temperature for Blindern in Oslo at 28.2 degrees.

But now there will be rest. This is good news for brown lawns and empty water reservoirs.

– I live in Bergen, so I have to go to Oslo to sunbathe, says Mathias Haughom (24). He and his friends were among the many enjoying themselves in Tjuvholmen on this warm Sunday.

– We met to play volleyball, but it was too hot, so we had to go here to jump into the sea. It should be enjoyed while it lasts.

BACKFLIP: Friends Synne Vigane (24) and Mathias Haughom (24) are still enjoying the summer at Tjuvholmen in Oslo.

Rain and thunder

– It will now rain and thunderstorms, said HÃ¥kon Mjelstad, a meteorologist on duty in Oslo.

Agder and Telemark may get some scattered rain as early as Sunday evening, but the rolling weather from Monday night is more violent. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow warning for heavy rains in Oslo starting Monday evening.

– In Southern and Eastern Norway, there will be a lot of rain from Monday evening and into Tuesday, and that’s how it will be for the rest of the week as well. But in Stafjell, there is a chance for another period of sunshine over the weekend, meteorologists said. He reminded that this weather forecast also has positive aspects: – We need rainfall now.

Annbritt Markander of Sweden, 81, and granddaughter Miranda Dahlgren, 25, enjoyed ice cream at Aker brygge before they headed back to Sweden on Sunday evening.

– In Oslo this weekend we had the best weather in the summer, said Miranda.

TRIP WITH GRANDNS: – We travel together once a year, and have previously been to Nice, Milan, Monaco, Barcelona and Athens. The Oslo trip is just as fun, says fit grandmother Annbritt Markander, 81.

Change also in West Norway

The westerners also had a pretty good weekend, but that wouldn’t last long.

– After the fog cleared on Saturday, we had a nice evening, and today the sun is shining. Bergen can go up to 24 degrees on a Sunday, and Stavanger 28. But most importantly it will be cloudy from Sunday evening. It’s not safe for some rain either here in Trøndelag and Møre and Romsdal from the evening, said the meteorologist on duty for Vestlandet and Trøndelag, Aslaug SkÃ¥levik Valved.

Monday will be mostly cloudy, and in the afternoon there may be thunder over Rogaland and Vestland. Rogaland can expect heavy rain on Wednesday, up to 20 millimeters in the hour.

– Thursday, on the other hand, looks like it’s going to be a good day overall, Valved said.

BEST ON THE BOAT: – We should go out while the weather is still nice. In this way, we extend the feeling of summer vacation, said Liv Sigurdsson, 57, who was on a boat trip with her husband Geir Engen, 57, sister Bodil Sigurdsson and dog Lira.

Sun in the North

In Northern Norway, the weather will improve on Sunday and Monday.

– We’ve had our first fall in recent days, with orange warnings for precipitation in Nordland and lots of wind in Troms and Finnmark, so it’s calmer now, said Meteorologist on duty for Northern Norway, Maiken Vassel.

– In Nordland, Troms and Finnmark there will be pauses in rainfall and wind. It will be partly cloudy, but the sun will likely appear. Temperatures will rise, especially on Mondays and Tuesdays, and maybe even up to 23 degrees on Tuesdays.

This is good news for northerners, who have recently had 10-12 degrees, but it won’t last long.

– Heavy thunderstorms in the south at the start of the week are gradually moving up here. There could be heavy rain, lightning and thunder in Nordland on Tuesday afternoon, which will move north and reach Finland by Wednesday, Vassel said.

NO TIME FOR WEATHER REPORT: Ole-Halvor Holmedahl Flatland (34) took his children Kanutte (2.5) and Halvor (1) to the beach in Tjuvholmen while his wife was at work on Sunday. – It’s perfect when the weather is like this, but I don’t have time to think about what the weather will be like when I have both.
