Russia’s newly minted NRK correspondent Gro Holm is stopped by Russian security guards during a live broadcast from Moscow during Saturday’s Dagsrevyen.
Holm commented on the explosion that earlier on Saturday hit a bridge that stretches from mainland Russia, across the Kerch Strait and onto the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula.
– Now I am stopped by the police here to speak further, but either way this is very incomprehensible to those who know how this happened, Holm said on live TV.
– No drama
Then a hand, holding what looked like a handheld metal detector, appeared on the TV frame.
Hånda blocked the Holm TV picture, and Dagsrevyen cropped the picture straight from Moscow.
The editor-in-chief at NRK’s foreign department, Sofie Gran Aspunvik, told Dagbladet that Holm was fine.
Visa issues for NRK profile
– Gro stopped outside the shopping mall for a live broadcast, and then the guard came and made him realize that it was impossible to shoot there. No drama, Gro packed up his gear, got into a taxi and continued on his way, Aspunvik told Dagbladet.
– Unexpected things can always happen during live reporting and luckily this is a non-dramatic reason, he added.
Second Russian Period
Gro Holm recently arrived in Russia to begin his second term as NRK correspondent in Moscow.
He landed the job in February this year, but visa issues delayed Holm’s departure to Russia for a long time.
Gro’s uncertain future
Holm was a correspondent in Moscow from 1994 to 1998. Later he was also a correspondent for NRK in the US.
In addition to being a reporter, Holm has also been head of foreign affairs, foreign affairs commentator and news and district editor at NRK.
