The meeting is scheduled for September 19 at 12 noon. Storting President Masud Gharahkhani (Ap) confirmed this to VG on Saturday morning.

The agenda included a statement by Minister Terje Aasland, Gharakhhani wrote to NTB, which stated the time for the meeting in advance.

Several opposition parties have long insisted on disrupting parliamentary holidays to come up with new measures against the electricity crisis – including with regard to electricity support for businesses. On Monday, it was adopted unanimously in the presidency.

– It is important for us to have this meeting, and that we take the power situation seriously, the president of Storting told VG.

Many trips

– Why is the meeting date so late in September?

– What we agreed at the presidency was mid-September, so that’s why we arrived on September 19th.

– There is a lot of travel for many people, and it requires coordination, but we believe this is the right time for the government and Storting, Gharahkhani told VG.

– It has long been clear that the parties have differing opinions on how the electricity crisis should be resolved – most recently during the party leadership debate in Arendal. What do you think?

– I think the nice thing is that the Storting meeting can show the best of Norwegian democracy: that the government and Storting work together to find the best for households, businesses and the economy, said the president of Storting.
