Britain’s health board has received the latest information after it emerged on Friday that four people may have been infected with the Zika virus in Florida due to mosquito bites, The Guardian wrote.

The Institute of Public Health (FHI) has not made any changes to its travel advice.

– We ask pregnant women traveling to the US to take precautions to protect themselves from mosquito bites. “For now, we believe the risk is so small that there is no need for advice against travel,” said department director Siri Hauge at FHI to NTB.

– We continue to monitor the situation, both in Florida, the United States and other countries, he said.

FHI urges pregnant women not to travel to Brazil, where the Olympics are being held next week. Others are encouraged to be wary of mosquito bites.

American health authorities have proven that there is a link between viruses transmitted by mosquitoes in pregnant women and deformities in the fetus. This virus can, among other things, cause microcephaly, a condition in which children are born with abnormally sized skulls.
