US offers bounty of around 15 million euros for information leading to arrest of Conti . member

MADRID, July 25 (EUROPE PRESS) –

US authorities have offered a reward this Monday of about 15 million dollars (about 14.7 million euros) for information leading to the arrest or conviction of members of Conti’s hacking group.

The UK government has accused members of the gang, allegedly based in Russia, of carrying out a 2021 ransomware attack against the UK’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

As such, the US State Department has offered another sum of up to five million for information on anyone who has conspired or collaborated with Russian or Ukrainian hackers, according to information from the newspaper ‘The Times’.

Conti’s group is also being investigated by the National Cyber Crime Bureau of the Irish National Police, which works closely with the US Federal Police (FBI) and the National Crime Agency of the United Kingdom.

Authorities in all three countries hope that the awards will direct hackers, including those involved in HSE attacks, to hand over information about the group’s leaders.
