Eurovision dancer Reno: – This is complete nonsense

Andersen was a dancer when Tix participated for Norway in Rotterdam in 2021. Two years later, he was with Alessandra Mele when she performed “Queen of Kings” at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool.

As a choreographer, he has a bigger role than before.

– It’s very exciting, Andersen told NTB.

From Veitvet

She grew up in Veitvet, and started dancing at the Follo Folkehøgskole in Vestby.

– I have a bit more responsibility to perfect the dance and make sure the stage show looks good. It’s a slightly different approach, and it’s also about the artist. It’s a little more work, but fun, says Andersen.

From the performance in the Norwegian Melody Grand Prix final earlier this year, there have been some changes made, but not many.

Norwegian Eurovision artists refined the details

– Things are much “sharper” now than before. All the intricacies and small details in the choreography that we didn’t have time for and had the time to do for the national finals. All the little things we saw after, just to increase what was already a pretty good number, explains the dancer.

Wise job

– I have attended Eurovision, as I think everyone in Norway, said Reno Andersen.

– But after I became a dancer, it was much more relevant in terms of work. It’s one of the biggest things you want to do as a dancer, I think, she adds.

In total, the Eurovision show is estimated at 200 million people.

– This is so preposterous. It is one of the world’s largest TV broadcasters – if not the biggest. You get a bit of adrenaline out of it. And responsibility, because everything has to sit down. But it’s nice to be a little nervous and excited, because it means you care more and want it as best you can, says Reno Andersen.

Not a celebrity – not yet

Dancers believe the Norwegian song has a good chance of good placement. Alessandra Mele gets a lot of attention in Liverpool, but so far the dancers have paid little attention to it.

– And it’s pretty good, so we can do some shopping and stuff. But after we get on TV, I think there’s going to be a little bit more pressure, and that’s fun, said Reno Andersen.

At home in Oslo, family and friends will gather for the Eurovision party. Neither of them made the trip to England.

– It’s not as cheap as being here now, because the prices have gone up a lot. But I think they get the best experience watching it on TV, because Eurovision is primarily made for TV audiences. Everyone cheered from the house, said the dancer and choreographer.

United Kingdom hosts

The United Kingdom is the host country for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, with Ukraine as co-host.

Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra pulled off a resounding victory in last year’s competition in Turin, but Russia’s invasion of the country has led the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to choose England as the venue for this year’s competition.

Very touched by the celebration

Norway tops the list of possible winners of the game, but it remains Sweden and Loreen who are the big favorites. Both are in the first semifinal which will be held on Tuesday, May 9.

The final is Saturday May 13th.
