The car hit the cyclist

A car hit several cyclists in the municipality of Nora in Sweden, media reports, including Express, Echo Swedish (“Dagsnytt”) and Aftonbladet.

– At 10:20 we received a report that a car traveling at 70 kilometers per hour had hit a group of cyclists, Nina Begallo, operations manager at SOS alarm (Swedish 112 center), told Aftonbladet.

According to Ekot, there were about 20 cyclists who were hit. According to the local newspaper Nerikes-Allehanda (NA) Police said that two people were seriously injured.

Several ambulances and medical helicopters have been dispatched to the scene, in addition to police and fire services.

– Both were taken by ambulance, but were awake and able to talk, Ola Olsson, operations manager in the Bergslagen police district, told NA.

According to NA, the suspected driver was at the scene. Police informed NA that it was not known what caused the collision.

Nora is located northeast of Örebro in Västmanland, roughly halfway between Stockholm and the Norwegian border. The collision occurred on a small road near the hamlet of Järle, according to Ekot.

Operations manager Olsson told NA that the incident has been tentatively described as an accident with personal injuries.
