Culture and Entertainment, Literature | Hans Olav Lahlum has been nominated for a British crime award

All of Lahlum’s books in the Patricia and K2 series are published in the UK.

The first book in the series, The Human Flies (Menneskefluene is the Norwegian title) was published in English last year, and has now been nominated for The Petrona Award.

The award winners will be announced at CrimeFest in Bristol on May 16. However, Lahlum will be present during the festival and participate in panel discussions. This will be the author’s first visit to England.

– I started the mental preparation to clap when someone else was called, grinned Lahlum.

– This is a strong field. I got good reviews in England, although many were five sentences long, and four of them described the action.

International

Lahlum’s crime books have so far been published in Portugal, Denmark, South Korea and the United Kingdom.

Additionally, the youth novel Huset ved hast has been published in Sweden.

New book

2015 will be a very active year for Hans Olav Lahlum.
This will also be the year of England. In April/May, British Prime Ministers from 1900–2015 will appear.

From Lord Salisbury to David Cameron, which Lahlum wrote with political scientist Øivind Bratberg.

A new book about Patricia and K2 will be published in August. The book is entitled Haimennesket.

– For the first time, K2 and Patricia are outside Oslo, reveals Lahlum.

– The action takes place on an island on the coast of Sørland.
